VIKING PAINTING

Picture
60" X 72" OIL PORTRAIT of an 11th CENTURY VIKING FAMILY, Commissioned by the Runestone Museum, Alexandria, Minnesota. While in the museum, I found my three year old grandson walking up to the painting by himself to take a closer look. The painting seemed to call on his curiosity just as I had hoped for all children who visit the museum.
THE VIKING FAMILY PORTRAIT was unveiled Friday, March 20, 2015, at the Runestone Museum, Alexandria, Minnesota. The painting including the Nordic/Ojibwe frame, is 7 feet x 5 feet. It is an oil painting on stretched linen. The painting process took 12 months of planning, research, and painting. A local Scandinavian family modeled in historical costumes as the Viking family.
